Promoting English Readiness For Effective Care and Trust of Nurses

Project Brief

The PERFECT (Promoting English Readiness for Effective Care and Trust of Nurses) project, coordinated by the Tartu Applied Health Sciences University (Estonia), aims at improving the quality of nursing care by enhancing the professional English language competence of nurses. Proficiency in English facilitates more effective patient communication, builds trust, and increases employability of healthcare professionals internationally. The project brings together experts in nursing, English language teaching, and digital learning to create modern educational resources suitable for both independent and course-based studies. During the implementation, the project will foster experience sharing among partners, develop and pilot an updated course titled “English for Nursing and Healthcare”, create an interactive digital book for healthcare professionals, and offer learning opportunities for in-service nurses. The project outcomes will be disseminated to ensure a sustainable impact and encourage positive transformations within and beyond the consortium. In the long run, PERFECT seeks to support the development of a professional community of nurses who are confident English users, ultimately contributing to better healthcare services in the project partner countries.
